Tell us about yourself.

I am a Sydney based artist who creates video and photo-media specific works. My previous artwork has focused on visually reconstructing an object or environment in order to alter it from its structural function and form. My current interests in portraiture photography and minimalist video art has allowed my work to expand with new methods of technical and conceptual research.

What can the audience expect of your response to the theme?

‘Everything we talked about last night’ is an experimental video artwork inspired by the opening scene of Michelangelo Antonioni’s film L’ Eclisse (1962). This opening scene inspired the video artwork’s concept of memories and perspective in a relationship. As a response to the exhibitions theme, Everything we talked about last night serves as a portrait of what a relationship may or may not have been. Therefore, it is left up to the viewer to decide what memories of the relationship were real.

‘Signature’ is a series of portraiture stills that are of the artist’s parents. Captured at random moments in time, each image presents a narrative that is open to the viewer’s interpretation. As a response to the exhibitions theme Things I wanted To Say But Never Did, these images serve as a visual ode to the artist's parents.
